Sometimes no matter how hard you try, you just keep falling back on all the stupid mistakes you've always struggled with. Even though I know God is holding my hand and leading me through everything I do just like I asked him to, it doesn't always help.(Romans 7:18) I think sometimes, he lets us screw up... does that make sense? I think that he might have a different kind of punishment.
You know how parents discipline their children... kinda like that. "Tough love". (Jeremiah 23:2) That thing nobody ever likes to do or experience! If God is our Father, than why wouldn't he discipline us?!
Praise God for his mercy and forgiveness! (Psalm 130:4)

And sometimes he allows struggles or hardship to bring us back down to earth, to remind us that it is he who has accomplished achievements in our lives not us so that we then turn and praise him and give him the credit. Sometimes he allows us to continue to experience the same painful sin over and over to remind us that we meed to be trusting in him and leaning on him and not relying on ourselves...
ReplyDeleteI know that I have repeated several sins and its only when I'm trying to do things on my own and God allows me to struggle as a simple reminder.
I know this isn't in tune with your post, but it's the thought that went through my head so I decided to share it with you. I hope it can in some way bring encouragement
